Census Bureau reports Highlands population was 1,079 in 2017


Highlands, North Carolina had a population of 1,079 people in 2017, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the North Carolina Business Daily.

The median age was 60, with 52.5 percent of the total population being female and 47.5 percent male.

The state’s total population in 2017 was 10,052,564.
