Boone, North Carolina had a population of 18,493 people in 2017, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the North Carolina Business Daily.

The median age was 21, with 49 percent of the total population being female and 51 percent male.

The state’s total population in 2017 was 10,052,564.
