72 percent of applicants to Elon University were admitted for fall 2018


At Elon University, 99 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 60 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Elon enrolled 6,991 students in fall 2018, including 6,196 in undergraduate and 795 in graduate programs, data shows. 0.9 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

17 percent of undergraduates are residents of North Carolina, and 80 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (80 percent) and Black or African American (6 percent).

The school admitted 72 percent of the 10,729 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 22 percent enrolled.
